Smiles & Amazement

Kenna has began smiling last week when you smile at her. It's the kind of smile that just lights up her face and ours to watch.

Caleb tries to snuggle with Kenna, it's pretty cute, she even seems to calm down when he does.

Caleb's cheezy smile :)

Caleb can just amaze me sometimes. Being two is a tough age, trying to assert your independence, beginning to learn consequences, having so much energy and not having enough time in the day to get it all out, despite what mom does to wear him out. But then there are times, like below where I sat and watched him for 20-30 minutes (which is like hours in his time frame) put together, piece by piece the train track, figure out each tongue and groove and then play with it with all his trains on the track. It amazes me, because in a lot of ways, this is a simple toy compared to all the other ones with bells, whistles, talking, computerization, etc. This is a simple wooden toy, with no noises and a lot of patience and focus needed to put it together on his own and the joy he finds in playing with it.
